A natural wonder of the world and one of the five World Heritage of UNESCO in Vietnam, the magnificent Halong Bay lies 160 km east of Hanoi. Most of the islands are clothed in thick green vegetation and the sound of birdsong in the early morning. The largest island in Halong, and one of the few that are inhabited, is Cat Ba, which has some beautiful beaches and a national park.
